As you know, branding & marketing live almost entirely online today. That's great— if you know how to get behind it and ride the momentum. I've owned a service-based business since 2009, and during the 16 years that I've worked as a sole-proprietor, many times I was left to tread water in the wake of the digital boom.
Media and marketing concepts changed overnight and most small businesses like mine just couldn't keep up. In no time,
I became completely disconnected from the quickly evolving world of business technology.
My sales and marketing skills seemed to become irrelevant in the time it took to swap out a wall calendar.
Do they even make those anymore?
My business thrived, but it was because I worked harder— not smarter.
Technology moved faster than my learning capacity and the costs limited my access. To get a website for my business, I had two choices: lose hours to tutorials that left me with cookie-cutter results, or pay thousands to web-hosts and consultants who would deliver concepts that didn't truly represent me. Even worse, I would be locked out of access to my own marketing tools if I didn't continue to pay through the nose. If I wanted business cards, I'd have to hire a graphic artist to get my logo "just right." When I couldn't afford to hire a professional, DIY online services were cost effective—
unless of course you consider the unpaid hours I spent learning process after frustrating process.
I realized that I was more than capable of design layouts, but I still ended up lagging behind the latest trends in marketing because my focus was on my business and not the marketing. I couldn't be pulled away from my customers, so I spent hundreds of hours of my free-time learning what worked and what didn't. I ended up with a lot of DIY experience and I've learned a lot the hard way. I look out and still see a lot of small businesses who didn't, or couldn't.
It's time that they also find their modern brand and enjoy the benefits of online marketing.
I still don't understand many of the advanced nuances the fancy consultants say are "must have features" in their very expensive packages. The return from these big marketing investments is rare for most small businesses. That's ok. They are selling tech.
I'm selling you connection.
Let's keep it simple.
I know what truly fits small business.
Small Businesses thrive in authenticity and consistency. That hasn't changed and never will. We run on handshakes, eye-contact, quality of work and unwavering ethics. When there are disappointments, we don't gaslight our customers by deferring to "other departments" or exhausting them with endless customer service trifles. We acknowledge problems— we take accountability— we make corrections and deliver back to our customers a restored promise. Our authenticity is maintained by our integrity.
We do good work, and that is what our brand should be built upon.
So how do we compete against the big businesses and their corporate advertising?
We Don't. We get the right consultant...
One of "US."
We focus on what makes us unique. The goal? Giving our small businesses a modern brand and recognizable identity— online and beyond, even though we can't match the big guys dollar-for-dollar in our marketing budgets.
I can work with your budget.
I can get your job done.
I can give you the time that you don't have at a cost that makes sense for your small business.
Let my hard-earned education work for you. I see you, Mom & Pop...so let's go show the world your full potential!
