I was approached by the National Podcast Project to engineer and edit "Las Doce." NPP is a non-profit that supports podcasting education in K-12 and college classrooms. This production required me to utilize and review approximately 11 hours of audio footage. There were 12 interviewees and it was requested that the content be rendered into 5-10 minute vignettes for each featured guest. These interviews were obtained by students.
Additionally, it was requested that I create a preview promo and introduction/teaser reel to feature smaller excerpts of each interview. I provided written summaries of each rendered interview to be used in displays. I also performed the sound mastering and by utilizing AI technology, I was able to construct a lyrical, musical and sound effect palette that provided a unique reflection of each guest and segment. You will find my voice in a few segments as I also created audio place-holders that I set up for the middle-school students who learned to record their own introductions.
The project was engineered using RodeCaster Pro and Soundtrap.
Easy. Peasy. Lemon-Squeezy.
But there is more to podcast editing than cutting out bloopers and lobbing off excess footage. It requires intense focus and attention to detail. My musical background has allowed me to get an easy feel for speech cadence and for learning how to adjust advanced features on AI software to create the perfect musical fit.
This compilation project was completed ahead of schedule and the final product measured 73 Minutes and 39 Seconds.
This is Episode Four of a developing series for The MedTalks Movement, an advocacy group for victims of medical harm and malpractice. The goal of the podcast series is to feature not only patients, but practitioners and professionals centered in mainstream medicine who are ready to speak out about the alarming rates of medical error.
I was required to research guests and interview them. Based on the initial interviews, I created script outlines for each episode, though they are largely conversational.
The interviewee had authored a book that details her personal experiences, so I crafted a musical theme based on its title.
This project is expected to develop into a monetized series, but the advocacy offers the four-part introduction as part of a free resource site where the initial episodes will remain available to all. This is an ongoing project.
Publishing my memoir, FIGHTING THE THIRD, required much more than simply writing out a timeline. It meant learning how to structure a story that was both personal and universal, then revising it over and over until the manuscript held together with clarity and purpose. It required teaching myself how to design and format pages so that the book looked polished in both print and digital editions, right down to margins, typography, and reader flow. It required navigating publishing platforms, managing ISBNs, and understanding metadata, categories, and keywords so the book could actually be found. It required designing my own promotional materials, building a website, and developing a marketing strategy that will reach the right readers. It required learning about sales and royalties, while also packaging the book in a way that could land in the hands of legislators, media outlets, and influencers.
In the end, publishing demanded persistence, creativity, and strategy at every stage.
The process gave me more than a finished book—it gave me the ability to guide others through the same challenges, whether as a consultant, a ghostwriter, or a publishing coach.
The success of a book is never determined shortly after its release, but I am proud to say that it debuted as a #1 New Release in American Drama in August 2025. 305 Pages.
